About Me

I would describe myself as a honest, cheerful and positive person. I can be shy at times, but after having build a connection with someone my shell melts down quiet rapidly and I show my goofy and jolly personality.

Usually I am very low maintenance and can just follow the lead of peoples suggestions. If there is no plan, I also dont mind just to walk into random directions and see what will happen.

In my free time, I easily go down the rabbit hole and play my guitar for hours (or fiddle my guitar rather). Once in a while I try to write some music and play it to my cats. I started to surf when I moved from Germany to Portugal a year ago and love an occasional hike through the nature.

Having now quit my job and just starting a new Job in July, I decided to take of and travel to the US and Canada.
I think my choice was on the one hand due to short time to plan, but also because I wanted to be able to be able to talk to any and everyone on the street and be able to have a in depth conversation with those that I get to know.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing seems to offers me a great way of pushing me out of my comfort zone. Similar to hitch hiking I can expose myself to new people and situations, that else might be difficult for me to experience.
There is a range of personalities that go and offer strangers their car or home and these are the people I would love to meet. So far I understood them as being very kind, curious and somehow daring, which is a great mix.

I can also be somewhat shy and hesitant to approach people randomly in a bar or street. With couchsurfing I found a loophole to bypass this trait of mine :P.

Music, Movies, and Books

These days my favourite songs are:
Green eyes by Erykah Badu.
The Magnificent Moon by Midlife.
Süpürgesi Yoncadan by Altin Gün
Ordinary pleasure by Toro y moi.

But in general I am up to all kind of music, as long as it resonates with me. Currently I start to get into more classical music, which I didnt fancy at all in previous years, because it felt like it misses some drums. But now I am starting to get into it. Maybe it is like wine and you have to drink your way into liking it.

My go to music is:
Misfits, Outkast, Earth Wind & Fire, RHCP, Prince, Franz Ferdinand, Tame Impala, Metallica, etc.

Books I liked:
To kill a mocking bird.
Game of thrones books.

Movies:
Florida Project
Home Alone
Bud spencer and Terence Hill movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I loved to hitch hiking for two weeks from Germany to Spain and playing self-written songs with my old band was a fantastic experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you:
- Some Guitar.
- German and Portuguese
- how to make pizza dough from scratch.

If you have something to teach, I want to learn it. Maybe you got some poems, or know how to cook a specific dish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share what I know about playing guitar and music that I wrote and learned.
Further, I can show my hard earned skill of making the sound of a water drop with my mouth.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Portugal
