About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Preparing to tramp from Hong-Kong to Urumqi. A trip I have been dreaming about for a while now, which is in the making but probably won't happen before the second half of the year.

ABOUT ME

I've reached a point in my life where I feel an almost insatiable hunger for more stronger than ever before. I need to get out and about! I've got a few rough travelling sketches in my head at the moment but unfortunately unforseen surgery will keep me from making anything happen soon. So for the moment I'd enjoy meeting up with CSs in my home town Berlin, grab a drink etc.
I'm an open and cheerful guy who likes a good talk/discussion about almost anything. Try me!

PHILOSOPHY

"Let every man seek heaven in his own fashion"
Frederic the Great (fellow prussian and king thereof)

If you want to give a light to others, you have to glow yourself!

Interests

Interests? Basically everything I find interesting. There's probably not enough space here to tell. But for a start (the usual suspects): Photography (excited, as for the first time my shots will be the photo feature of an exhibition in Berlin this year), literature, travelling, languages, cooking(friends keep asking me to cook for them - draw your own conclusions here), Music(see further down)

Something different: knitting(yes knitting! do not hesitate to ask), walking through woodlands (even more if it is mushroom season), gardening, a good discussion

Music, Movies, and Books

If it triggers a switch then it's good!

Concerning music: I can cope with nearly anything but I do have my problems with techno or metal at times.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw a documentary on German TV about a guy in Shanghai who collects (!) Chinese architecture (whole houses, temples etc.) before moving to China. Met him randomly at a party in Shanghai, went up, asked him about his hobby and got invited to spend the day with him to see his collection and have one of the best Chinese meals ever. One of my best days in China!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be glad to share what I know. I could for example help you:

-to learn German
-to learn some Chinese
-with cooking

I am also a dab hand and could help with some minor repairs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
