I'm Alex from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

I'm an actor and a puppeteer and I work(ed) a lot with kids, these are three things I am very passionate about, so I feel blessed that I'm involved with them professionally.

I live in Rotterdam, which I really love.
Sometimes when I longboard through it's broad streets I genuinely get the feeling I'm on an adventure somewhere in the future.

What else?
I'm an enthousastic, centered person and I love working through my shyness and meeting new people.
I also love checking out museums (we have seriously cool modern art museums in Rotterdam)
and DEFINETLY hanging out with friends (they've never been known to say no to a game of Risk)

I was raised bilingually by my British mother, who now lives in the south of Spain, near Granada with her Norwegian partner. So you're welcome to practice English and Dutch with me at any time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the next few years I want to continue travelling around the world and absorb as much as I can.
I have found that the most interesting and beautiful about travelling usually turns out to be the people that I meet and the connection and exchange that I share with them.
I am looking to experience ways of life that are a bit different to my own, to share ideas about life and living and explore ways that other people shape their lives, to learn from that what I can.
I am curious and open, but I find myself often overwhelmed by the possibilities of what life has to offer.
To stay in someone's house is a beautiful way of stepping into a large part of their life, and through Couchsurfing I hope to find people that are willing to share their way of living!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studied Kung Fu Palm and Sword-form for two months in a Taoist temple atop a mountain in Wudang, China

It was, cliché as it may seem, a life-changing experience to be in a place so different from what I knew and with so many beautiful individuals.
Another purpose was to challenge my body, to build and grow it every day and see what it could handle.
It could take on so much more than I ever imagined and it made me so proud and thankful of my health and this fantastic vessel that regenerates and grows and learns along with me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love acting and puppeteering and am willing to share what I know about that
I love moving my body in all kinds of ways.
I'm a good singer and love to make music together. I play a little bit of piano and guitar (and harmonica)
I'm a decent rock and tree climber, have practiced Tai Chi, Kung Fu and (contact) improvisation
I like dancing, I would love to do parkour
I would love to find more ways of expression through fine arts like paint, charcoal and sculpting
I have no clue how to handle plants but would love to know
I know a few vegan recipes from experience
