ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Alexander. I love to travel on my spare time and that's how I got introduced to Couchsurf by a travelling friend Daniel. It seems to me like a great way to meet new people, learn about cities and culture in a much more interesting way than doing it the regular tourist way! I also get to host couchsurfers which my friend Daniel has done four times already and from what he told me it was much fun :)

So who am I? I am 33 years old living and working in Norrköping at the headquarters of one of swedens largest goverment agencies. I like travelling, meeting new people, hanging out with friends, listening and playing music (as I have been playing in a band for many years), partying, sports like volleyboll, badminton and running.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to try anything once. The more you learn about life the more you realise there is to learn. I try to keep an open mind about everyone and I think that most people are interesting in one way or another.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by offering my couch for two sleeping spaces and a foldup bed.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had guests staying at my place and I have stayed abroad with hosts. However I have so far mostly used couchsurf for getting in contact with locals and other travellers when travelling myself. I would like to surf other peoples couches more! :)

Interests

My main interest I would say is music. I play in a band and have been playing guitar for roughly 20 years. I listen to most genres but I'm focused on rock. Second interest, besides hanging out with friends and family is to travel. I've been in all continents as of last summer when I went to Tanzania by myself. Best travels is really hard to choose but lets say Australia/New Zeeland, Japan, USA, Tanzania, Brazil. I like travelling with friends and/or by myself. The experiences can be totally different! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like reading biographies and factual books.

I love watching a good movie. Anything goes, comedy, adventure, drama och horror or sci fi. Some movies I enjoy movies are Django Unchained, Schindlers list, Alien, Wedding Crashers, The Big Lebowski...

Music: I'm very broad but my roots are in rock music as I've been playing guitar for nearly 20 years. Bands/artists like Stone Sour, Radiohead, Opeth, James Morrison, Dream Theater, Mando Diao for example.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the Great barrier reef, I've climbed mount Doom, I've Bungy jumped 134 metres and Parachuted 15.000 feet the same day, I've seen Sperm Whales breath just beneath my feet, I've gotten in illegally into China by mistake, I've been to Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Tijuana, Moscow, Kiev, Odessa, Athens, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Edinburgh, Tokyo, Rio de janeiro, Dar es salaam and many other places.

Teach, Learn, Share

Almost anyone. People from other countries, guys and girls, different ages. If you're good at speaking English it's a big plus. If you come from somewhere I haven't yet been that would be interesting.
