Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I feel like conventional traveling always maintains a certain layer of distance between the traveler and the locals. Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to tear down this wall and truly emerge in a new culture. In a hotel I will always remain a tourist. Through couchsurfing I hope to become a friend among friends, even if it's only for a short time.
