About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eastern Europe.

ABOUT ME

I used to be a very good beach volleyball player when I was in school, still like to do it with friends. I am working in a small NGO in Ruse/Bulgaria, the Elias Canetti Society, trying to promote social awareness and literacy in this region. For recreation I love to go swimming and hiking. I just started to work with a trainer to pick up hirse back riding again a years long break.

PHILOSOPHY

Siegmund Freud and a good glass of wine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Travelling is one of my passions, I use to travel with little baggage and rely on local transport or blablacar to see as much as I can on a trip. Hosting was always great fun - I've never regretted it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am quite spontanous and therefore love to be with people. I have already met a lot of great couchsurfers, and watching each others photo collection and listening to each others fish stories is always great fun,

Interests

My main interest is cooking, movies and music. A combination of chilly con carne and Sergio Leone movies (The good, the bad and the ugly etc.) uses to keep me in tune.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2010 I was travelling in Turkey. I tried to hitchhike out of Istanbul (alltough I wasn't a very experienced traveller at that time) and was waiting for hours at the ramp to a highway. Just when I decided to give up, two young turkish airline pilots where picking me up and taking me all the way to Ankara. We had a great time and Turkey turned out to be a great experience as a whole.

Teach, Learn, Share

At the moment I'm trying to pick up some French again, which used to be quite fluent some years ago. My Bulgarian is quite good too and I my chinese has never been better.
