I am a Canadian, born and raised and currently living in Portland, Oregon USA. I love this city for all its creativity and love of food. There is abundant beautiful nature all around us and wide open spaces abound. While all of those sound like things about Oregon they are also things about me, they are why I am here. I love creativity and spend my time doing inane crafts, spinning wool, knitting, and trying my hand at any other textile I can get my hands on. I love nature and being outside and I am passionate about food and drink. I am also a voracious reader, sometimes a writer, always interested in getting new tattoos, and always down to meet new folk.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am planning a trip to Europe this coming September and October. I wanted to get a feel for couchsurfing and hopefully meet new friends. My current living situation makes it difficult to host new friends at the moment but I would love to meet up with some travelers and help them explore this city I love so much.

Music, Movies, and Books

So so many, any and everything surrounding music. I love good real rock music (gritty and garage and rockabilly), folk and bluegrass, some pop music is fun and fitting of certain occasions, I love ethereal Icelandic music and also metal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had the opportunity to ride horses in the great wild unknown, take pack trips and create a bond with an animal like no other. For this experience I will be forever grateful and forever awed.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share my knowledge with others, everything from rudimentary bike mechanics to cooking (of which I have great knowledge), baking (even more so), gardening (still a student myself), knitting, sewing and spinning. I am also always eager to learn new things, I want constantly to be taught and discover all the strange and wonderful things I never knew before.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook for others, it is one of my great passions, and even more than cooking I love to bake, that it what I went to school for and what I love more than anything, and nothing is better than sharing that love with others.
