About Me
Hello! I am a recent college grad looking for adventure and trying to settle in to Real Life. In a few years, I am planning on going to grad school for Library Science. I like outdoor sports, especially high adventure sports, books, knitting, exploring new places, and getting to know new people. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am mostly on here to meet new people and because I think that staying with someone local to the area you're visiting is one of the best ways to experience a new place.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Varies. My staple artists I grew up on are Guster, Great Big Sea, Death Cab for Cutie, and The Decemberists. Right now, I'm delving more into kind of synth indie pop, like Shura, Oh Wonder, Grimes, Broods, etc.
Movies: I like anything from The Painted Veil to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. My taste is nearly indiscriminate.
Books: I could go on for literal days, but I'll only list a few. The Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern, Deathless - Cathrynne Valente, The Secret History - Donna Tartt, On Such a Full Sea - Chang-Rae Lee, Never Let Me Go - Kazuo Ishiguro, The Ocean at the End of the Lane - Neil Gaiman.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I studied abroad in England for three months. During that time, I traveled through England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic mostly by myself. It was a lot of soul-searching, mixed among the outward exploration.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach people how to knit and a bit of German and Spanish. I'm also a great baker; I've won several awards (including a blue ribbon) at the NC State Fair for my cookies. I can teach people baking or share recipes. I am learning how to cook well and I enjoy learning about cooking. I also just enjoy learning interesting things in general, whether about astrophysics or gardening or foreign phrases.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can bake and cook and help with both of those things. I am good at cleaning and organizing. I have a lot of experience giving people reading recommendations. I love meeting and talking with new people. I am always up for exploring new places and hiking or just going for a walk. I also have experience pet-sitting and babysitting. And I have a lot of foreign markets near me, so if you want something that's hard to find, there's a good chance I can get it for you. :)
