Overview
About Me
I aspire to be kind, open-hearted and -minded. I believe that humans never cease learning and that is pretty much what I want to do for the rest of my life- learn, grow and share these processes and experiences with people; either the ones I already know and love or the ones I meet through new life phases and of course traveling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always been passionate about traveling. My childhood involved a more 'traditional' way of traveling - mostly visiting family in Romania and later staying at my dad's friend's second house in Spain year after year after year. It felt like a breakthrough when I at one point noticed how this wasn't everything the world of travels had to offer. My concept of traveling has both evolved and changed, so to speak. I've not only travelled, but lived in the States, Uganda and Norway. I've walked the Portuguese Camino, I've camped. Now, I would love to try out couchsurfing :)
Interests
Languages! I speak German, Romanian and English fluently. The latter I study, so much of what I read or watch every day is in English. I've been studying some Norwegian and am hoping to learn the language more over time.
I am quite active and love to work out, go for runs, hikes or swim. Especially hiking is something I try to combine with my travels. Also, I am a Quidditch-player and eager to explain the concept to those who don't know it:)
Reading- recently, I've had the chance to emerge into novels more than the previous year, which I really appreciate. Currently, I count Beloved, Frankenstein, the Harry-Potter series to my favorites. Discussions about literature are therefore an option for those interested :)
Music, Movies, and Books
I've always had a hard time picking 'favorites', so I'm afraid this is all I can do for you:
Music- quite diverse I would say. What I listen to most often in my free time is singer-songwriter, folk and generally more calm. To name a few: the Lumineers, Hozier, Kim Churchill.
I enjoy all kinds of music, though! As my mom is a professional opera singer, I grew up with classical music and still think that it's very great. I think you get the idea ;)
Movies- 12 years a slave, the help. Comedies just as much. All kinds. I'm not good at this.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I walked the Camino Portugues (from Porto to Santiago de Compostela) with three friends. I loved the experience. Every day was a challenge, you needed to get your walking done, no matter the weather or your mood. We not only got to know each other as a group in a new way, but I learned more about myself in the process as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My humor (hopefully), stories of traveling, life- I am really hoping to meet people that will bring these along for me to listen to and be a part of, I guess :)
