Ahoj! I am Alex, I grew up in a small but beautiful country in the heart of Europe and am currently living in Sweden. I am cheerful, positive and love to see people smile. Fan of nature and feeling the world through all the senses.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy exploring places, not necessarily new and distant, simply places. Couchsurfing makes that easier and I get to meet and talk to people who I would most likely not cross paths with otherwise. And it makes me get out of my comfort zone a bit, which is mostly a good thing.

Interests

Drawing, swimming, riding my bike, parks, museums, cooking or baking or just food really, listening to people play music and tell stories, all kinds of sports.

I am fascinated by arts like woodworking and pottery. One day I want to have my own workshop where I do fun woodworking projects and design + build custom furniture. (hit me up if you do either of those and need a helping hand, I would love to learn!) Same with pottery.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently I have been trying to read historical fiction (especially Japanese) to learn more about the rich history. I am reading Musashi currently which I would so far very much recommend.

I always end up talking about these movies to people sooner or later: Divines, The Fall (2006) and Ghibli studio movies.

Recently I went to a concert of an all women's instrumental band Los Bitchos which was so so fun. I have been trying to listen to full albums to experience the music the way it was meant to be, album Foreplay from Mild Orange is my go to at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Something I remember really fondly is my first solo bike touring trip in spring 2016. I recall how joyful, free and accomplished I felt! The people on the way were absolutely beautiful and inspiring.
