Overview
About Me
I grew up in Ohio and moved to Kentucky for college. I'm currently in my fourth year studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB). Both of my parents' were high school teachers. One younger brother who is also my best friend. I very frequently travel with my other best friend Abbie. I have a shih tzu (small fluffy dog) at home. I'm allergic to cats (very mild) and I have celiac disease, so I am allergic to gluten. I absolutely love meeting new people and engaging in conversation with them!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a fun loving girl who loves to travel, but, as a college student, can't always afford it. I'm on Couchsurfing to meet new and amazing people through my travels and to have someplace to stay that doesn't break the bank!

Music, Movies, and Books
Huge Harry Potter fan, Fall Out Boy is my favorite band-- I'm into alternative, classic rock, rock and roll, jazz, and I'm tolerant of everything else except country, Cat's Cradle by Kurt V., I love mystery novels too, Pride and Prejudice, still watch Disney movies, Bridesmaids, V for Vendetta, Inside Man.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wow, I'm so lucky because I've been able to do so many amazing things, but one I am very proud of is volunteering with the St. Bernard Project in New Orleans to help build a house for a hurricane katrina survivor. I went down with my best friend Abbie and my dad. We worked during the day for a few days and then got to see the city at night and a few days prior to when the work began. It was an enlightening and humbling experience and it made me fall in love with New Orleans (I've been four times in the past year alone!).
Teach, Learn, Share
One of the things that I'm focusing on this year is living more of a "Nothing Wasted" lifestyle. This means I'm trying to say yes to as many experiences that I am offered, but it also means that I am trying to reduce, reuse, recycle, and refuse (a reference from the book garbology which I highly recommend) to eliminate a lot of physical waste that I generate. People don't realize how much of an impact they can make on so many different isssues, so I guess I'd like to say that you're amazing... You can go out in the world and do so much good, so you should try to do just that! Just find something that you're passionate about and talk to others about it! And also, we can all find ways to cut some waste out of our lives. It can be easy and harmless and even save you money and, of course, helps our environment.
