About Me
I'm Alexandra, my friends call me Ale, I'm a 22 years old Romanian who’s doing her master in the adorable city of Rome. Nothing is more interesting than travelling, meeting great people with different points of view, watching today the sunset by the seaside and tomorrow’s twilight on the top of the mountain. Italy is more than just its capital and I just want to discover it all step by step. I want to enjoy traditions from all over the country and not just in theory, but I also want to have first-hand contact with different dialects, beautiful landscapes, arhitectural style, food(of course), meaningful historical places, music, etc. Since 2014 I'm playing (guitar, bouzouki) in a medieval and traditional music band from Romania, called Truverii. Travelling all around our country, playing at the best-known medieval festivals in Romania (my favorite one is in Sighisoara, Transilvania), playing in jam-sessions with bands from many other countries, I discovered the beauty in others, in their interesting languages, food tastes, ways of dressing, of seeing like, afterall.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to see as many places as I can, but unfortunately, I'm a student with much more pleasure in travelling than money in the account. I think this is a great oppportunity for me, you and everybody. There’s a huge difference between enjoying a city from a hotel room, where u just go and rest and the house of a local, where you go, see, learn, enjoy and then u can go to sleep. You can see how they live day by day, you take part in their daily routine and take contact with the little details in their life. I think nothing is greater than this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent my Easter holiday in a small village from Poland with a Polish family that didnt know English but they made me feel like part of the family. How? A girl from my dormitory back in Poland, where I did my Erasmus 2 years ago just came to me in the kitchen, asked me if I ll go back home for the Easter Holiday, I said No and her next sentence was “you cant spend the Easter alone. Come with me in my hometown. Tomorrow morning at 8 we have the train. Aleksandra, by the way. Nice to meet you! See you tomorrow!”
