About Me

I am A Person, as my name testifies it. In fact, I am Miss A. Person but I still haven't found out which person I am missing.
Some time ago, I was born in Saint Petersburg in Russia but to be honest, I don't remember much about my birth. The next thing I remember is that I grew up near Hamburg in Germany. In 2016, I moved to bautiful Edinburgh. Officially I'm studying Film and Media but it feels more like I'm studying Procrastination. Next year I am hoping to spend some time in Georgia and Saint Petersburg and then I would like to study anthropology, as my main interests are other cultures and what makes us human.

I enjoy living a simple but adventurous lifestyle. Personally, I don't aim to travel far but I rather making the most out of every experience and seeing beauty in the small things, like a specific light in the sky or a foggy morning. I can enjoy lying in the grass as much as going to the museum. But what I enjoy most is to connect with different people, as everyone is a teacher and every person on the planet knows something that you don't.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling without spending time with locals is like cooking without salt. Couchsurfing is a great way to meet different people from all over the world. Experiencing places in an authentic way is much more beautiful than falling into tourist traps. I think there is nothing more interesting than learning about experiences, stories and cultures from people different to myself.

Also if it wasn't for Couchsurfing, I probably would have never decided to move abroad to Edinburgh to study here for my entire degree. It proves that travelling can change your life.

Interests

My interests are photography, low-budget travelling, listening to and trying to make music, volunteering at arts, music and film festivals, holistic medicine.

I am interested in alternative ways of living. Since last year, I am living in the biggest student housing co-op in the UK and my role is to organise events. More than travelling, I enjoy being in one place for a longer time to really get immersed in it.

My life goal is to start a centre for intercultural communication and nonformal education near Hamburg.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Doing a European Voluntary Service in Dudley, England. Volunteering in social and youth projects, meeting people from different cultures and learning more about England, this world and myself. It also inspired me to study abroad in Scotland.
