Hey y'all! I'm Alexandra, a 23-year-old graduate student from the USA. I'm currently studying for a Master degree in Tel Aviv, Israel. The degree I'm studying for is in Security and Diplomacy Studies. I also have degrees in Criminology, Political Science, and Middle Eastern Studies. Though young, I have lived a lot of life :) I've been married for 5 years. I joined the Army when I was 17 which is what inspired me to travel the world! I have a dog and a cat back in the US that I miss so so much! I'm using my time in Israel to travel the world and explore other cultures, so I can't wait to meet you on my (or your) travels! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm studying in Israel for a year and during this time I'm planning to travel the world! But I'm on a backpacking graduate student with a lot of student loans budget if you know what I mean. Traveling and exploring other cultures is one of my passions, and though I can explore other places by staying at hotels, I like to meet the locals and make real connections. So what better way to save money and meet locals than Couchsurfing? I hope to meet you in my travels!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am the absolute biggest Swiftie (that's Taylor Swift, y'all) - I literally tell my husband the best day of my life was the Taylor Swift concert he took me to.

As for movies, I am a huge Star Wars nerd! Additionally, I love movies that are somewhat historically accurate that are entertaining at the same time they're educational, like The Darkest Hour for example. On the other hand, I'm a sucker for a good cult classic. My all-time favorite movie is Zombieland!

I am a huge nerd, so choosing just one book would simply not be possible. As with movies, I love books that are educational while also being an enticing read. But I'm also a sucker for a good crime fiction book!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jump out of an airplane? Though I feel that answer is kind of cliche. So instead... I competed in Star Wars trivia throughout my university years to raise money to go to Star Wars land at Disney World when it opened. I'm finally getting to go this fall!

What I Can Share with Hosts

For those interested in the US political system or culture, I am always happy to talk about it and help others learn what they can't get from the news. I've worked in the US government for years, so I have a lot of insight to share from both my studies and my personal experiences. Additionally, I like to cook, so I'm happy to cook a meal or help out. Lastly, and most importantly, I'm an amazing trivia partner. :)
