About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn about Local Culture and Travel on a Budget

ABOUT ME

Fascinated by history and real daily life.

I'm thirty-something and recently married my best friend, Russell. We've done a ton of travelling - a lot for work. We work in the infomercial industry and have lived/worked all over the US and Canada. Luckily our jobs afford us easy leaves of absence. This time, we're taking time off to go on our belated honeymoon. We're on a budget so we thought that we'd try out couchsurfing.

We're excited to get to know you and hope you host us! We are non-smokers and occasionally have a social drink. We're very tidy too. We can carry on long conversations or keep out of your hair--whichever you prefer. We can make you dinner too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A lot of people say that Pompeii feels like a Ghost Town; when I was there it felt just as much alive as the day of the eruption. It's frozen in time--it doesn't seem eerie at all to me. It feels like life could suddenly start up again--just like everything is on pause.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am super passionate about genealogy and history. Most of my travels include some type of family history. If I'm visiting a place where my ancestors didn't live, I always include something historical. It's great to see how the current culture is influenced by its history.

I'd love to inspire others to get started with their family history or break down a brick wall if they're stuck--sometimes all you need is a fresh look.

I am also passionate about cooking. I am pescatarian, and I love cooking Italian food, but I'm always exploring other types of ethnic cooking. I'd be happy to cook for you too!
