About Me
ABOUT ME
That I'm always the one at the table asking questions. I'm inquisitive by nature- I'll be the one stumping the waiter ("is this a hint of cloves in this marinade?"), or googling questions that come up in conversation that maybe don't need to be googled. But I love gathering little bits of information, and especially love gathering little bits of information from other people. I'm friendly, outgoing once I'm able to shake off my Scandinavian heritage, and above all kind. I meeting new and different people which is probably why I get such a kick out of traveling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had a brainflash during my last hack at a desk job that travel is an essential component to my own personal happiness. Couchsurfing is obviously the more economical way to do it, but I also like that it gives you the opportunity to seek out an insider's perspective and to see a city through their eyes. I used to give visitors these admittedly insane walking tours of Seattle (like, 8-10 miles of walking) but it was the only way I knew to express my love of the place - pointing out the coffee shop that felt mine, the view that felt mine, and the city's quirks (don't touch the gum wall).
Interests
I love books (right now: Van Booy, Ishiguro, and Mitchell), food, runs, hikes, polar bearing if I can find a local sauna, singing (Fauré, Purcell, Grieg), nerding out with my friends (science, magic the gathering, more science), and a good karaoke night. I like being out and about but also appreciate a quiet night in.
