About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting strangers for the purpose of abundant exploration and expansion.

ABOUT ME

I listen, talk, love and learn. I'm involved in youth media education and also have a strong interest in Oral History - a speaker-centered recording practice that I picked up through working at StoryCorps for a few years.

PHILOSOPHY

Wow. I guess that says it...I like to be surprised - by myself, by others and by my physical location, wherever that is in the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by being ready to be filled up - with ideas and inspiration - from others. Currently, I'm traveling to New Orleans and will participate by being an active listener and enjoyer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used CouchSurfing as a jumping off point to building community when I traveled around the country with StoryCorps. Although I did not stay with anyone, I had some of the most incredible conversations with strangers - in diners, in cars, at beginners salsa lessons - all through CS.

Interests

Analyzing conversation, trapping moments of conversation on paper, trying to be organized (always in the process), crafting spontaneous ploys that have to be acted upon in the next second or else they won't be interesting, laughing, linguistics, bus rides and anything passionate.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now I'm reading Joseph Mitchell, Up in the Old Hotel. I listen to music mostly based on mood and recommendation. When I first start traveling or leaving, I play Harvest on repeat.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've played some fantastic games of Scrabble with my grandmother.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you (at least!) how to do a head stand and how to make some delicious tabouli.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Costa Rica, Myanmar, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States, Viet Nam
