About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Settling into my new home, Siem Reap

ABOUT ME

I like simplicity, warmth and a good laugh. Always a fan of the jokers, the thinkers and the free spiriters; good honest conversation is what I enjoy most, that and a good party :)

PHILOSOPHY

“Our individuality is all, all, that we have. There are those who barter it for security, those who repress it for what they believe is the betterment of the whole society, but blessed in the twinkle of the morning star is the one who nurtures it and rides it in, in grace and love and wit, from peculiar station to peculiar station along life's bittersweet route.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am relatively new to CouchSurfing, but think it's a great idea, I'm excited to meet some interesting people through it.

Interests

I am easily pleased and amused; you can probably make me laugh instantly.

I like the simple things; good food, open and caring people, the sun-shine and a good dance.

I have spent the last few years in Asia, where I have mainly been working for education based NGO's. I am passionate about the work that I do; I love being involved in education, being part of positive change and being surrounded by such genuine, interesting and kindhearted people.

I am a food fanatic. I think this quote can be applied to other dishes too and is quite in keeping with my philosophy: "Never underestimate how much assistance, how much satisfaction, how much comfort, how much soul and transcendence there might be in a well-made taco and a cold bottle of beer.” hahaha, true!

I love creative people, places and things. Photography and art really appeals to me and although I am an amateur myself I appreciate being surrounded by all things "arty".

It is inevitable that I will become a crazy cat lady in the future; probably swinging in a hammock with a million cats hanging off me...but so it goes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ones that give me goosebumps, ones that make me think, ones that make me move and ones that inspire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working in a little rural town on the Border with Burma, every memory made there makes me awestruck; the beautiful couragous people, the simplicity and the nature are just spectacular.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn how to make jewelery and other crafty things, preferably out of recycled goods.

I can cook some pretty tasty chilli-con-carne, or so I've been told.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, France, India, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Cambodia, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, United Kingdom
