About Me

Hi, I'm Alex,
I'm a French Canadian from Montreal. I study sustainable business and I am currently on a semester abroad studying in Copenhagen.
I consider myself a very curious person as I am always excited to discover new cultures, learn new languages and, above all, I love traveling.
I have many interests, I like to cook, to go running and biking, playing sports with friends, going to museums, playing board games, watching movies, reading, going camping and hiking to name a few. I consider myself to be more on the intellectual side, but that doesn't mean that I don't love going out and having a few beers with some good friends.
I love engaging in debates regarding all sorts of different topics and I am always interested to hear what it is people have to say. I can sometimes be shy at first glance, but I love to get to know people little by little and forge friendships with a good sense of humour. I think I'm a very generous and compassionate person who understands when it's time to have fun, but also when it's time to be serious and get down to business.
When it comes to studying, I tend to be very serious about it. I think I am a very reliable person and I like to think that I am a good friend always there to support others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When you visit a country, it can sometimes be difficult to get to know the cool places to visit, the cheap but good places to eat and the cozy bars and pubs to hang out. Of course you can find all of that on the internet, but it just isn't the same as hearing it from a local who will recommend the best way to experience his or her city.
Getting to know the locals is also the best way in my opinion to get a good grasp of the culture and embrace the differences from our home country, which is why we travel after all.
Creating a network of friends around the globe and a circle of eclectic human beings is a very exciting opportunity. It is also a great way of sharing parts of our home and engaging in passionate conversations.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I have said earlier, I think one of my greatest qualities is my curiosity. I am excited to ask people questions about where they come from and what they think of a particular sportsman, artist or politician. I am always motivated in learning a new language and teaching what I know of the languages I speak.
I place a lot of value in sharing a meal as I think it brings people together and creates very fond memories and would definitely be quite happy to have the opportunity with my hosts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

It would be my pleasure to cook a hearty meal that we can all share over a nice bottle of wine. I would also love to point out and recommend the best things to do in Canada and offer my assistance in helping anybody that is eager to discover Montreal.
