Hi I'm Alex, I am 25 and originally from Belgium. I am a para athlete, model & disability activist .I love to learn new lenguages, I speak french dutch,english &I am currently trying to learn spanish! I am passionate about travelling & learning about new cultures or different/alternative ways of living. I love alternative medecin,budhism & mindfulness, I hope that during my travels I will be able to broaden my knowledge about those topics.
I have cerebral Palsy I can walk with a stick but I am mainly a wheelchair user, I am really open about my disability so if you have any concerns about hosting me because of accesibility reasons don't hesitate to ask :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After 2 years as a commercial in cybersecurity I realised that this wasn't the way I wanted to live my life so I decided to quit. I decided to volunteer in a center for people with a physical & mental disabilities in Spain for 6 months and this turned out to be the best experience of my life ! I want to continue meeting real people and get out of my comfort zone and thats why i started The Wheelies Project!

"Growing up with a disability I quickly learned that I was different and that because of this people had preconceived ideas about me, what Icould or could not do.I have never accepted that narrative and through the years I havebeen able to acquire the necessary skills to do whatever I want,whenever I want, to surpass all challenges that were preventing mefrom living a life that truly brings me happiness & fulfilment.

Whether it is: Modelling, public speaking, activism or being an athlete, I have done it all but my adventurous spirit was craving something more, something different, I wanted to combine all the things that matter to me: travelling,educating, helping others and creating.
That’s why we started the wheelies project "`
