Hi there, We are Alex and Marine, Alex is a software developer and Marine is a psychologist. We have been traveling for sometime (and planning to do more) but for now we are settled nearby Nantes and welcome people who want to travel around and visit some great places.
About Alex, he is a musician (drummer), Skydiver, and he used to practice Karate for a long time. He loves cooking and he does it as much as he can (when schedule allows it). Other than that he has been fascinated to learn about different cultures and especially language expressions. So give him your best line and we will have some jokes around it !
About Marine, she is also a musician (singer), she welcomes new challenges, enjoys some running and in the process to improve her English as much as she can.
We really enjoy discussing and debating about life. Meeting new cultures and understanding how people live and what drives them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Alex has been traveling and people hosted him on his way, Marine is a bit newer in the game but as happy as Alex. We like to meet new people and share some culture match and mismatch, that's the beauty of it. We also want to give the same opportunity that we had while traveling and get to know good people is always fun, and heart broken... But hey, that's how life works ! Blue sky !!

Interests

As we mentioned we have few points of interest. We have done different sports and by nature loves it. Adrenaline is also part of me (Alex) with skydive but we like to be chill and enjoying a sunset at the top of a mountain.
We are pretty busy on weekdays, but we love to take a break and have some time out. Otherwise Alex like martial art, we like playing music, we like having a beer and cooking with friends. So we are pretty sure we should have something to share.
Oh yeah also, Alex is a bit of a geek, that's his field and passion since he was young. So he might be able to help you out on your IT problems but he can't promise anything ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Alex is a drummer since his youth and Marine is a very talented singer. We enjoy rock / pop and a lot of different kind of music that we can play with people.
A guitar and yukulele, piano, and a drums are available at our place. Who ever want to have a go, we can try it out together :)

Reading a fair bit as well, quite a big fan of fantasy book. Dresden Files is one I'm reading currently, highly recommend !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well I got few (Alex), but here is one, will traveling around Vietnam with a motorbike, the rain caught us my friend and I and we had to slept in the middle of a tiny village at a dentist place which was the only opportunity we had.
Dealing with problems when they show up is something you learn overtime ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

Alex is quite comfortable with English but there are always room for improvement. So do it, he is far from offended when getting corrected, quit opposite ;)
We will be very happy to teach some french if you are curious about it. We have been fascinated by how expressions mean different things in many languages. Funny to see how people react to "Cul de sac" when they finally understand it !

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can cook french food (one of our hobby), and honestly if we pick the right dish, we are doing quite well, juge it yourself :p
We are very easy going (we hope we are as much as we think), our master word is relax, we need to take time to live things in life so, doesn't matter if we don't see much each other when you come over, just relax and take it easy. No rush in life ;)
