Hello, we are two french people travelling through 2025. We spent the first three months of our trip in West Africa, crossing part of the continent from Senegal to Togo in a bush taxi. Then, we have been
discover South America for 6 months. Right now, we are travelling in India with the same energy we had in Africa: being with the local people. Illegal crossing of the Gambian border by canoe: we were on a small Senegalese island located in a delta in the west of the country. We wanted to reach the Gambian border and a smuggler told us that a canoe would leave at dawn the next day. We set out to sea for five hours against the wind and tide, skirting the coast in an overloaded canoe. The sailor got lost and panic spread on board. After several scares caused by high waves, we disembarked on the beach, where the police were waiting for us. We had to pay to avoid going to jail. Welcome to Gambia, one of the least visited countries in the world, but full of treasures.
