About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Give and receive with as much pleasure !

ABOUT ME

I'm a curious, joyful traveler. I try learning the languages of the countries where I go.
I don't see very well. I like talking and listening. I like cooking too.
I'm social and not too demanding. I'm interested in history, politics, local music and life.
I'm also quite a good walker. I'm writing too much about myself. We can meet, have a tea or a coffee and then I can tell you more.

PHILOSOPHY

My vision of life is spiritual and relies mainly on mutual respect. Understanding & making oneself understood and not doing to the others what I wouldn't want them to do to me.
I also remember that however differently believers may pray God, we serve the same One and I hope He likes our different attempts to serve Him.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I can't host right now, but if I can help, show Paris or be of any help concerning the places I know, I'll be glad to !

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie here ! I'll update when I have more to tell ;)

Interests

Languages & people who speak them
Music, ranging from vocal jazz and rock to Georgian, Russian or Czech traditional music (actually, pretty much everything, if the text is good or the music is worth a dance).
Traveling, obviously.
Bargaining on a market.
Finding the nice place tourists usually don't know about.
Cooking for my friends and introducing them to each other, discovering new tastes, new things (as long as it's worth it) and giving the others the chance to discover something they might not know yet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met Vaclav Havel (yep, the Czechoslovak dissident and playwright) and Mikhail Gorbachev.
I worked as an interpreter and a translator for asylum-seekers.
I was asked by a French-Georgian couple to be the tamada (master of ceremony) during the lunch following the baptism or their first child. (Those who don't see anything extraordinary are either so often tamada that it's common for them or so unfamiliar with the "tamada"-ness that they don't realize what a responsibility it is).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belarus, Belgium, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
