Overview
About Me
I am a 26 French citizen enrolled in a clinical psychology masters program in the Netherlands. As I am currently working on my masters thesis, I want to take that time to travel some more before starting my career in psychology.
My life has been a constant adventure. Born in Senegal, Africa, I grew up immersed in the African culture which shaped my personality, values and broaden up the way I see life. I moved to Europe when I was 7, where I spent most of my childhood until early adult years and began my journey in the mental health field.
Soon after graduating from my bachelors, I left for the United States, to take a break from my studies and away from social pressure, doing a cultural exchange program as an au pair. America was a life changer for me, it was the environment to make me bloom and become the person I always wanted to be. Between Backpacking in The Appalachian Trail, doing sunrises hikes in Mount rainier NP or voluntary work in a horse therapy center, my life was rich of new experiences, getting to know people who enriched my soul and life vision.
I am spontaneous person, up for anything and live new experiences. I Love to try new activities and am a huge nature person. In my free time I love to hike, go rock climbing, eat yummy food, dancing, reading, go for a walk and wander around without any goal in mind, just waiting to see what’s gonna happen.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I got to know the Couchsurfing program while living in the US. Interested in knowing the hidden jewels of the places I visit, experience life like the locals away from the touristic crowds, Couchsurfing is the best way to travel and understand the people’s culture.
It’s while Couchsurfing that I met some of the most open minded people, people who inspired me and taught me very valuable life lessons.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I would say the most amazing things I have done are related to my experiences in psychology. During my bachelors degree I did many internships to see which psychological fields I liked the most. I worked in children neuropsychology, helped depressive people with dog therapy, but the experience that touched me the most was working with patients and families affected of cancer. Working in that cancer unit is the most rewarding experience I have ever had. I still can remember some of the patients I worked with, I was pretty Green at the time, not having that much therapeutic knowledge, but being myself, listening and being empathetic, was everything those people needed. Knowing I got to give them a smile during our conversations warms my heart to the fullest, and was the biggest accomplishment of my day.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a huge traveller and love to discover new places and people. Born in Senegal with Italian and Lebanese origins, I have some very cool and interesting stories to tell about my life and travels
I am also trilingual, and can share my knowledge in French, Spanish and/or English.
Some people are lucky to find what they are destined to do, I am one of the lucky ones and know being a mental health provider is the reason I am on this earth. I would love to share my knowledge in psychology.
