CURRENT MISSION
Travelling the world
ABOUT ME
I am an easygoing German guy who settled down in Oslo two years ago (after living in the Norwegian countryside for two years).
Before moving to Oslo I spent seven month backpacking. I have been once around the globe and thanks to CS I met wonderful people on all four continents I visited.
And now it is time for payback!
If you don`t mind that my appartement is outside the center (30 min by tram to the City Hall) you are more than welcome to stay at my place in the North of Oslo, only a few minutes walk from Nordmarka (Oslo´s famous forrest-area) and with a wonderful view of Maridals Lake and Holmenkollen.
Unfortunately I am working in the tourist-business and that means that I am very busy now in summertime - therefore I cannot host every day. But just send a request.
What I usually do when travelling myself:
I love to just walk around through big cities, I think this is much more fun than to visit museums or all the main attractions. For me the small things are more important, a hidden cafe, an old pub with interesting people, nice parks where you can sit and watch the locals....
PHILOSOPHY
Always keep an eye on the railtracks!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have had great couchsurfing- and hospitality-club-experiences during the last eight month travelling! Staying at someones home adds an incredible value to my journey - I couchsurfed in Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhni Novgorod, Irkutsk, Beijing, Darwin, Honolulu, Vancouver, Seattle, Austin, New Orleans, Memphis, Washington and New York.
In 2009 I couchsurfed in Madrid and Lisboa.
And as I mentioned above, now it´s time for payback. I just bought a sleeping-couch for my future guests.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Amazing experiences in Finland, Russia, China and Australia! I met people for coffee, people who showed me their city and surfed several couches. Beside that I met a lot of other couchsurfers on their travel around the world. Great people all together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Reindeer-sledging in the North of Sweden, minus 35 degrees, endless snow-landscape, only me and the reindeer.
Skiing outside Vancouver just four days after enjoying the crystal-clear water on Fiji. Amazing contrast!
Sitting in front of Potala Temple (the most fantastic building in the world).
Travelling on board the old-tram-lines through Lisboa!
