ABOUT ME

I am a 22 year old writer/nanny from Bellingham, WA. I just graduated with my BA in Creative Writing and a minor in Music from Western Washington University. Then I road tripped down south to be a nanny in Berkeley, intern for a kids' creative writing school, and do some of my own writing! Thus, I am a bay area newbie! But I love meeting new people and exploring so I'm in my element!

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is one that is not fully formed, but is becoming more solid every day. I'm curious, open-minded, compassionate and generally very optimistic. I look at life with a creative eye and an undying passion for living it to the fullest!

Music: The Beatles, Bon Iver, Radiohead, Norah Jones, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Esperanza Spalding, Andrew Bird, Ray Charles, Billie Holiday, Blossom Dearie, Feist, Sufjan Stevens, Fleet Foxes, Motown, Glen Hansard, and many many more groups/artists. Not huge on country, rap.

Books: Creative Nonfiction and memoir by Brenda Miller. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, Sylvia Plath, Joan Didion, Ginsberg and Bukowski. And e.e. cummings' poetry!

Movies: The Shining, Rear Window, Elizabethtown, Pride and Prejudice (obligatory chick flick!), Breakfast at Tiffany's, Django Unchained...so many more I can't think of

I watched a breathtaking meteor shower way north in Canada. The stars were so incredibly bright!

I got published on Amy Poehler's Smart Girls website! (a personal goal of mine)

I fed a horse through a car window in Kauai.

I kissed the Blarney stone in Ireland.

I swam with sea turtles in Maui.

I swing danced under a meteor shower in Northern Canada.

I can teach piano, music theory, ukelele, and English. I love to make cupcakes and share them!
