ABOUT ME

I've been living here and there for the last 19 years and I'm a permaculturalist. Also, I teach Italian, English, Galician and Spanish as second languages and I love different countries and cultures. I like cinema, music (folk and early music in particular), comics, trekking, gardening and literature. And obviously I ADORE NATURE!

Music, Movies, and Books

Folk music from around the world.

I like movies by Studio Ghibli, Michel Ocelot, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Stanley Kubrick, Emir Kusturica, Billy Wilder, Nanni Moretti and many more directors and random movies. Did I mention that I love cinema?
I particularly like science fiction/horror movies (even old ones: The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari, for example). The last gem I saw: The Man from the Earth.

Books:
Anything by Italo Calvino, The Man who Planted Trees, The Bridge over The Drina, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Midnight's Children, The Lost Steps, Six Characters in Search of an Author, The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories, The Aleph, sci-fi/fantasy/horror books (The Monk and Robot series by Becky Chambers, Solaris, Momo, Neverending Story, Abarat, Animal Farm, Brave New World)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Uluru at dusk, the cliffs of Carrapateira, Plitvice lakes, the sacred wood of Bomarzo, the gardens of Ninfa, Matera at dusk.
Wild camping and skinny dipping in Algarve, paragliding, kayaking and hiking in British Columbia, a participated screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Vancouver, the chants of the muezzins in Sarajevo, zip lining in the Lucan Alps. Sitting on one of the oldest trees on earth in Sardinia, seeing the carvings on what's left of an ancient cemetery come to life at dusk in Montenegro. Writing a book. Editing A Solarpunk Manifesto.
