COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first time I actually got to use CS in practise, I had the best time ever with my host. We dressed up as Ash and Misty - surely that says enough! He is still one of my best friends and we meet fairly frequently, given the fact that we've lived on opposite sides of the world for quite a while. So yeah, I am definitely up for meeting more people in the same way! :)

Interests

I've studied Wild Animal Biology and working with wildlife is my favourite pastime!. Other than that I'm obsessed with anime and manga. If I'm not stuck in my room watching anime or away on some conservation volunteering project, I may be busy doing other stuff that I like, such as:

Hiking, camping, any outdoorsy things (they make me super happy!)
Pole fitness/dance aka looking like a disabled monkey on a pole (that's apparently what being intermediate level looks like)
Crafty things eg. making cosplays or sculpting
Dancing to live music!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love anything with a surreal, absurd atmosphere, like Kafka's or Murakami's books and Jim Jarmusch's movies. Usually I'm not much for Hollywood movies, but I've recently taken a real liking to Thor, which is quite surprising! Maybe I'm starting to get into superhero movies, what the hell.

My current favourite band is the Fall of Troy (if you know them, contact me immediately, I need you to become my friend).
Other than that, it's some old punk rock... some funky gypsy bands... (the list is long)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled by dala dala through Zanzibar, the definition of being close to people. ("Hey, let's put 34 people in a vehicle where there's only space for 10!" - so cosy)

Not 'amazing' in the strict sense of the word, but definitely my most mind blowing experience. I was in the steppes of Kazakhstan, doing research on endangered saiga antelopes, and suddenly they were struck by an epidemic. Within 10 days, an entire herd of 62000 antelopes died, right in front of my eyes.

If you're city has suitable lamp posts, I can show you how to climb them.
If I had a car, I would show you around all the beautiful spots near Hobart (bit of an empty offer there)
If you're not into that kind of things, I can just cook some vegetarian food :)
