While in Chile, I had the great opportunity to help make caldo de pollo (chicken soup) for the massive amounts of disadvantaged folk in a soup kitchen in Chile. The look on their faces and the amount of gratitude that I felt from them when these poor individuals received a meal basically for free, other than a small donation to help support the soup-kitchen, is incomparable to anything else I've ever done. I'd do it again in a heart beat, and would like to experience similar volunteer work in other countries around the world.
