About Me

I'm a 28yr old Australian currently living in Berlin since 2016. I'm over here with the intention of pushing myself creatively (trying to write a film screenplay - emphasis on trying 😅), as well as to travel and meet new people. I've had such an amazing time and made so many incredible connections that I'm planning on staying for the foreseeable future.

I'm on my way back to Australia via India to work on a job for a few months, then will be back in Berlin come European summer time :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because of the experiences my siblings and friends have had both as hosts and guests. I've used it a lot in the past both as a host and a guest (on my ex's account 😅), and I find it's the most amazing way to get to know a new place, meet lovely unique and interesting people and perhaps also develop lifelong friendships across so many different places in the world.

Interests

I love music, both live and recorded, going to small gigs, movies, and love reading but never do enough. Have relatively recently started doing some cycle touring and hitchhiking and have been really getting into them. Great way to see the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Into the Wild, The Motorcycle Diaries, actually I'm not going to list any more movies. There's too many from every genre and time in history. Studied film for 5 years and back in Australia I worked in the film industry. Needless to say I'm a fan 😅.

Favourite band is Radiohead, but I listen to and love a lot of different music genres from alternative indie, to hip hop, folk, blues, experimental, some pop and electronic and a lot in between.
Favourite author: Murakami? But as I mentioned I haven't read as much as I should have. Currently reading Herman Hesse's Peter Camenzind

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many to list. I feel like this is a ridiculous question haha!!

Cycled and hiked around Tasmania for a month in summer 2015/16, had so many amazing encounters with incredibly unique and notoriously shy creatures (platypus, Tasmanian Devil, Wombat), and saw some of the most beautiful and diverse wilderness and coastline I've experienced so far. If anyone is planning on heading to Australia, please spend some time in Tassie. It's a hidden treasure.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing and learning about other people's travel experiences and sharing advice, as well as having deep conversations about pretty much any topic. Have a thirst for knowledge.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a pretty great cook. Can offer engaging conversation, help with handy work. Just name it and I'm happy to help out. That and I am very good at cleaning up after myself 😁
