Overview
About Me
I'm an adventurous, free-spirited person that has grown up surrounded by nature and has lived most of his post-childhood life surrounded by sky scrapers. While I have grown to enjoy and appreciate everything a big, busy city has to offer, my heart will always lie in the wild. This way however, I feel at home in both places and love to explore cities and forests just the same!
I am very easy going and can make the most out of nearly every situation, good or bad. I believe I have a very positive mindset, I'm not generally a complainer :)
AT THE MOMENT
I am learning Web Developement so I can be a "Digital Nomad".
At the same time I am (supposed to be) studying Development & Economics.
I didn't realise there's so much to learn...
I want to spend as much time as I can on traveling, learning about the world, learning about myself and experiencing everything this amazing planet of ours has to offer.
When I'm not traveling, I live in London, near Wimbledon (think tennis!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, one of the best things about traveling is meeting all kinds of people from all over the world.
Knowing that in every place I visit, there are new people to get to know, with their own likes, dislikes, experiences and opinions is important to me.
I believe each person has something different to offer this world and I feel that with every new person I get to know, I learn something new about my self as well.
At the moment I am not able to host, but one day in the future when I have my own place I definitely will!
Interests
MUSIC
Since childhood, I was always interested in musical instruments. I started playing the piano at the age of 6 and guitar at the age of 16. I played the drums a little, but had to stop due to complaints from neighbours (no idea why?).
There's nothing quite like the feeling of playing something beautiful on a musical instrument and connecting to every note.
OTHER HOBBIES
I enjoy outdoor activities in nature, like Hiking, Mountaineering, Rock Climbing, etc. I seem to enjoy climbing anything and everything, many thought I'd grow out of that by now..
I enjoying playing most sports including football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, etc, even if I am not very good at them.
I generally enjoy keeping myself healthy and fit as I believe a healthy body is vital for a healthy mind.
THINKING
I think, a lot. Probably too much sometimes, so naturally I enjoy philosophy. I have a very open mind and I enjoy hearing people's opinions and views while having a friendly discussion or debate.
LEARNING LANGUAGES
Having grown up in a bilingual family, I am used to using more than one language in my day to day speech. Perhaps from this I have developed a love for languages and a craving to learn as many as I can.
I also enjoy the feeling of being able to understand and communicate with local people of the country I am visiting instead of being a "typical tourist".
TRAVELLING and VOLUNTEERING
Besides using trains, buses and hitchhiking to get from one place to the next, staying in hostels (and now couchsurfing too), I also enjoy staying longer in some places that I visit by volunteering at sustainable projects, farms etc.
I use the Workaway website and so far my experience with it has been great. On my last trip I volunteered on an Eco-Farm and a Creativity Center NGO in Malta.
It's a great way to meet locals and truly immerse yourself in the culture of the country!
MEDITATION
While I am not a religious person, I would consider myself spiritual and open minded when it comes to these things.
Mediation for me is the best way to connect with the true-self and also with something bigger than the self.
So far I have been to one Vipassana mediation retreat for 15 days, and while being very challenging, it was definitely a great way to reflect on and reassess beliefs, perspectives and goals which is difficult to do while living in a busy world full of distractions.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a very mixed taste in music and I like or at least respect most music that involves some sort of talent or skill to create.
Some of the genres I listen to are:
Rock, Acoustic, Electronic, Trance, Drum&Bass, Metal, Classical, Ambient, New Age, Blues, Jazz. (I'm sure I've missed out some).
In terms of movies and TV, I enjoy most things that have something different to offer the public than the overused storylines Hollywood likes to release 100nds of.
I admit to being a fan of some American TV Series like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead..they're just too addictive!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived one and a half months in a tent on a piece of land with no running water or electricity, only cooking food on an open fire in Malta.
Teach, Learn, Share
Apart from learning and practicing other languages, I also love to learn music. New songs, techniques or just good advice.
In general though, I am interested in learning most new things.
Whether its some knowledge about Physics or a completely new skill, I'd want to know more about it. I'm a good student!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Just like I am interested in learning most new things, I am more than happy to share my knowledge or skills with others.
I love to teach and help people practice the languages that I speak.
Any musical knowledge that I have I am also happy to share.
As I enjoy psychology (and generally helping people), I am a good person to talk to when faced with problems or hard choices.
