About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm currently working as a video journalist and camera operator/editor in TV. I'm mostly based in the North East but work across the country. I love travelling, reading, watching films and especially documentaries, cooking, comedy and just meeting new people and sharing stories. Looking to travel more and get to know more people through couch surfing in 2016!
ABOUT ME
I'm very easy going, polite and like to have a laugh. I finished a masters in documentary film last year, since then I've been working as a camera op and trying to get away and travel when possible. Just returned from a trip to Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam (Feb '16) and planning where to go next.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Had a small amount of experience couchsurfing in Europe, made some friends for life and can't wait to go travelling again. Hosted whilst at University and met some more great people, hopefully will be able to host again soon. Have been off the site for a few years, mostly because I couldn't host at home or I've been away travelling and mostly relied on hostels. Wanting to get back into couch surfing this year!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far only couchsurfed in Belgium and the Netherlands , but doing so made good friends who I've since been to go see again. I've mostly hosted people and pretty much always had great experiences.

Particularly love documentary films, such as : Dark Days, Salt of the Earth, Searching for Sugar Man, The Act of Killing, The Imposter, The Gatekeepers (and loads more)
Too many films to mention, but some favourites are: The Big Lebowski, Birdman, Seven Samurai, The Departed, City of God, In Bruges
Music wise I love all sorts but mostly blues, folk and rock: The Black Keys, Rolling Stones, Alt J, Skip James, John Lee Hooker, Rage Against the Machine
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most of my best memories are of the people I have met travelling or whilst Couchsurfing. Leen and Charlie, who hosted me and 2 friends in Rotterdam and have since met up with again, a random guy in Essaouira, Morocco who offered to cook for us even though we couldn't understand each other at all and the friendliness and generosity of people when Hitchhiking around America. Celebrating Tet in Ho Chi Minh City, walking around the temples in Angkor Wat, climbing Adam's Peak in the night in Sri Lanka and trekking in the Annapurna region in Nepal were amazing experiences.
Teach, Learn, Share
Always interested in discussing and sharing films/music/books and hearing about other people's travelling experiences as well!
