About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a mechanical engineering student who's interested in just about everything, but aerospace engineering has caught my attention right now. I've had the chance to work on engineering design teams at my school, as well as doing research. I also enjoy teaching country swing dancing, listening to Irish music, hiking, rock climbing, and exploring in general. If you had told me five years ago I'd be in the place I am today I would never have believed you- I've been given some amazing opportunities, and I just try to give back as much as I've been given.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think you have to be a particular kind of person to get interested in Couchsurfing- other friends I've had who have done it have been very exciting, engaging, and open-minded, as well as being very intelligent people. If that is that kind of crowd that is attracted to Crowdsurfing, then that is a community I'd like to be a part of; and if I get to travel and see new places too, more's the better!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: John Denver, Makem & Clancy, first two Mumford and Sons albums, classic rock, classical music- especially organ music by Bach, and many others. In the car I like audiobooks, with friends I listen to anything that we can all sing along to.
Movies: Top three are Driving Miss Daisy, The Mission, and The Shawshank Redemption. Others include The Thin Red Line, Cool Runnings, and Spirited Away.
Books: Current favorite is The Once and Future King, though I'm also a fan of Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton. Beyond that, there are far too many to list; I'm listening to A Tree Grows in Brooklyn right now, as well as The Count of Monte Cristo. I liked The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Ender's Game, Flowers for Algernon, Death Comes for the Archbishop, and various others. I have a long read list, and a long to-read list; definitely something to discuss if you have an interest in books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling to Italy. Definitely would not have expected that to happen as early in my life as it did, even if I was 25 at the time. It's kind of funny sometimes when you tell people that a place or an animal you've seen is exactly like they see in the movie, and they don't believe you... Everyone needs to travel a little.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'll fill this out later- seems like there could be a lot to go in this box.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Enthusiastic interest in just about anything. Honestly- the world is incredible! Perhaps it's because I read Chesterton, but I really try to be interested in everything about people and the world, because it's all new and it's all wonderful because we're all alive. Maybe that's crazy, but that's my aim.
