About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To wrap my body around the entire world at once.

ABOUT ME

I'm part nerd, part punk, part hippie, part art-boy, part 70's prog-rock d00d, part cat.

After living most of my life in Hawaii, I became a mechanical engineer and moved to the Bay Area, where I fulfill my ultimate life goal of building crazy sci-fi gadgets. Although I'm not an "artist", creativity is super important to me. I'm into mech. engineering because I love the creative aspects of design and problem-solving.

I like adventures. I constantly crave travel.

I enjoy stimulating conversation. I have some strong opinions, but I'm very open to others and I'm not judgmental.

I try to care a lot about health, but I'm not too hardcore about it.

I like cold weather because it makes me walk faster. In fact, I broke my foot in Iceland not long ago due to hardcore skipping, and it wasn't my fault! It was the cold Nordic wind that made me do it.

PHILOSOPHY

I constantly marvel at the infinitely complex machine that is the universe. I believe that we're each indispensable cogs, the effects of whose movements ripple ever outwards.

I'm almost always happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the summer of 2008 I went on a big 4 month adventure around the world. I did it for lots of reasons, and I did it on a super small budget! I love to connect with locals where ever I go, and I'm looking forward to having a living situation that allows hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I made some great friends couchsurfing, both hosts and co-surfers. It adds SOOO much to the traveling experience-- staying with a local, having a connection in each city you visit.

Interests

Building things. Enjoying music of various types (as long as it's a creative, well-written song, the genre doesn't matter so much!). Playing my own music of various types. Writing little stories. Reading big stories. Hanging out with all my friends with our super weird humor. Traveling, exploring, adventures. Jumping. Definitely jumping.
