About Me

Journalist, writer, performance artist, community manager, social media lover, sports fan, activist... lots of things! But basically someone who loves to live and tries to do it the fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Joined in 2008 and it's being the best thing ever! I love how CS can make people from different countries come together based on similar interests and concerns. I've made a lot of new friends thanks to that! Being a host at Santo Domingo means that I can show people my city the best way i can. Not just the "poppy colonial tourism", but the whole nine yards: historical places, restaurants (recently i´ve made a "gastrotour" arround the city which i named CCA, "comer como Alexei"), nightlife, cultural scene and our streets. Also, i might have a couch available for a day or two... sometimes. (not right now tho)

Music, Movies, and Books

Fan of music in general, but i preffer latin fussions, jazz, metal, dominican rock, classical, hip hop, even reggaeton and bachata. Also, i like independent movies but i randomly enjoy a "hollywood flick". On books, im a fan of Ana Lydia Vega, Pedro Antonio Valdez, Mario Benedetti, Juan Gelman, Eduardo Galeano and others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled by bus from Miami to New York when i was 16. Alone. An unexpected tour, because of a lot of complications when I arrived. I would do it again, but with company.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about the history of our city and our country from the very origins of it. I´m a huge fan of pop culture and that´s also a subject i love to talk, learn and share about. Some coaching on spanish available and also sharing poetry and tips on culture managing.

Countries I’ve Visited
