Hey there! My name is Alexey, I am a Ukrainian freelance photojournalist and documentary photographer. Since 2010 I have been covering everyday news in Ukraine's capital, Kyiv. Starting from 2011 I have been working on my personal projects, which you can see on my website. In 2014-2015 I studied Photojournalism on a Fulbright Scholarship in Missouri School of Journalism in the United States. Telling human stories using visual language is my passion, but I am also looking into some new technologies, such as creating 360 Virtual Reality content.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people. I don't think there is a chance I will get to travel to every country in the world, but maybe one day I would be able say that I have met citizens of every country in the world! There is probably no better way of getting to know the world in its entirety than meeting people.

Interests

Photography soaks (in a good way!) most of my time, but in my "free time" I love watching arthouse movies and reading books by the 20th century writers.
