I'm Alex. I live and work here in Cracow. I'm an IT guy and in free time I like sport, travel and writiting poems or doing that at the same time ;)
I love this community and idea of travelling! I love G. Byron's C. Harold poem where a guy found traveling is more important than everyday life :) crazy but I agree ;) I'm a very sensitive and romantic person ;) and since you found time reading my profile let me share my verse as well ;)

Once in Las Palmas city I found repose,
Where sun and sea in harmony so close,
Through winding streets I walked alone
To Irish bar where night grew long.

A lady with her eyes aglow,
Approached with stories from a long before,
She spoke of a sailor from the Russian shore,
Whose visits were adored ago!

"Once in a year, he'd sail to me,
Across the blue and stormy sea,
With eyes like ice and heart so bold,
The stories of his home are poems to be told!

In summer night we danced and dreamed,
Our fleeting love could burning candles see,
But in the dawn he had to leave,
He'd leave, beneath the sorrow skies.

Yet, hope I held, through days and years,
With whispered wishes and silent tears,
For in my heart, he'd ever stay,
A sailor bound with my way."

Her words wove through the smoky air,
Romantic love so sweet and rare,
And as she spoke, I could just see,
The timeless bond of land and sea.

Las Palmas city, where my heart did roam,
I found true story far from home,
Of love and waiting, hopes and price,
A sailor's love in memory of Spanish girl alives!
