About Me

ABOUT ME

Always tough to describe one's self, but I like to think that I'm very good at making people laugh and that I'm always conscious of other people's feelings. I've always got a smile on my face, as I believe that one's attitude is really important, and with a good attitude there is always fun to be had. I'm very interested in trying new things and seeing new places.

I'm a very considerate person. I respect other people's spaces the same way I expect guests to be respectful of mine. Although I've been a member of CS since 2013, I've really only become active this year but have had some great experiences already!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to really get to know the places I travel to. I'm tired of going somewhere and feeling like a tourist. I'd love to have the help of someone who really knows a city/town/place to show me the true essence of said place. It's also a great way to meet friendly, like-minded people! I think some of the best experiences I've had with CS is when I'm with a person who is very "different" from me. I think that's the best way to learn about other ways of life, other cultures, and other interests. For example, I'm not a vegan (or even a vegetarian), but I love learning about different types of food and healthier options.

Interests

People. I love meeting people while traveling. I also love food, which makes traveling on a budget difficult.
I play most sports, but my favorite sport to play is basketball. And I'm always down to go dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, honestly. Probably my most listened to is hip-hop, and it's my favorite music to dance to. but I also love dancing to reggaeton and dance music, anything really. I'm also into the oldies, like Sam Cooke, the Temptations, Marvin Gaye...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's tough to choose just one, because I've gone skydiving (parachuting) and bungee jumping. Honestly I think the bungee jumping was scarier because the danger was immediately in front of me, whereas jumping from a plane the danger was 3,000 meters below me. They both definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone though, which is what it's all about.

Slept in the Sahara desert.

Recently got laser eye surgery to correct my vision....Talk about adrenaline! I was awake the whole time, watching the operation..

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn languages and local history!

I can teach English and Spanish, and debunk some typical stereotypes of people from the United States that have come to be accepted internationally.

Sharing is caring.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My positive attitude, a big, genuine smile, knowledge of other countries, travel experience. As an English teacher I can also help teach you English (if you don't already command it perfectly!) and I can teach you Spanish as well (again, if you don't already dominate it). I can share my passion for sports, and my infectiously positive attitude.

Countries I’ve Visited
