Overview
About Me
Hello. My name is Alexandre and I'm from São Paulo, Brazil.
I work in a public bank in Brazil as a foreign trade analyst and I love to travel in my spare time. During my travels, I'm keen on meeting new people and know their cultures. ^^
I set up as a long-term goal to visit all 198 countries in the world and I'm sure the Couchsurfing community will help me to achieve it. Also, I want to be admitted to the Brazilian Foreign Service as a diplomat. ^^
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think Couchsurfing will give me opportunities to meet more local people.
When you go to a hostel, indeed you get to know a plenty of people. It's fun but it's not the same thing than meeting local people.
I love to know new cultures and the best person to show me is the one that lives in the country which I'm visiting it. For me, this is the full and the best experience that you got when you are visiting a new country.
Interests
I have a plenty of interests that it's impossible to describe everything here. I'm very eclectic and very open-minded to try new things but I can sum up my hobbies in some words: sportsman, amateur piano player, bookworm, and cinephile! =D

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I'm eclectic! From Classical Music, passing through electronic music, to Metal rock.
Movies: I'm a cinephile and I guess I've watched almost 1000 movies so far! However, my favorite genres are historical (Braveheart, Gladiator, Apocalypto, Kingdom of Heaven....), martial arts (all Jackie Chan movies, Bruce Lee movies and other HK and samurai movies) and horror movies (The Blair Witch, The Exorcist, Paranormal Identity...).
Books: Musashi, LoR, Diplomacy, The Hobbit, Grit, Convict Conditioning, Shogun....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It looks strange but the most amazing thing I've ever done is to be admitted in the public bank that I'm working. I've never been the smartest guy in my high school and college days but I could pass the public exam (in Brazil "concurso público") studying only 1,5 month before it and surpassing more than 1 million candidates (yes, a ridiculous number of people to work in a bank). So, it's amazing for me that I could do it! xD
Second most amazing thing was to run a marathon below 4 hours =D
