About Me

I'm Alessandro. I was born in the north-west of Italy, in Genoa, a city grew up climbing the mountains on the sea. I grew up there until one day, at age 24, bored by the routine life and looking for something else, for something new, I decided to leave on adventure to South America and the world. I would have gone to London to put aside some money to start the trip, ticket already booked. Except that, in the time that remained at the start, I was attracted to Rome by the manifestations of the Indignant and Occupy movements, where I met my girlfriend. Guess what? I no longer went to South America.
So I spent the last three years and a half in "Rome and province" which currently is my reference point although I haven't what could be called a home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like being in contact with people, to share knowledge and aspirations because I believe that only through the meeting and exchange, we can transform this society and replace the logic of profit with the logic of cooperation and sharing.

Often I travel and visit the places also using WWOOF. For me it means traveling without being tourists and participate in the life of the places I visit. Also gives me the opportunity to learn the job in the country and in the region (The nature, the land and animals) and meet new people.

In the life of every day, before starting to travel, the realities that I frequent are trying to change this political economic system through the recovery of relations. So I came in contact with the occupation of the indignant in the square of Rome and occupations whence are born places of culture, sports and services for the district.

And I believe that all this, along with Couchsurfing, are some of the seeds that will help to bring forward  the change.

Interests

I spent nine of the last eighteen months doing one of the things I most love: traveling, sometimes alone, sometimes with Sara. In particular we are been in Scotland, England, Wales, France, and in recent months I rode alone in Italy. And this is one of the main reasons why I don't have a house, it would be pretty useless at the moment.
In the UK we have been almost two months in three different communities very different from each other each one in a different state. While in France we worked twice in the grape harvest in the Beaujolais and a month last summer in lavander harvest in Provence.

So I can say my biggest interest, at the moment, is to travel. In fact, after the various European countries that will cross in the coming months, in Autumn I will leave for a long trip in Asia.

My other interests are the natural food, alternative agriculture (non-chemical and researching new, or old, better methods to farming the land) which often I organize my travels. And winter, because yes, winter is coming.

And...there is another thing: love. I want to learn more about love. Where love is when you give to the other not for have something back, just to make them happier.
