Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to be your volunteer guidance of Suzhou.
Are you ready to google "Suzhou" before starting? I have some English websites about Suzhou, please access these websites before you google it.
http://www.classicsuzhou.com/
http://en.visitsz.com/
http://www.livingsu.com/
In those URLs above, you could get detailed introductions of famous scenic spots in Suzhou.
If you can't get used to local food or can't use chopsticks.Don't worry, you could also find some western bars, restaurants or shops in Suzhou, access these websites below
http://www.cityweekend.com.cn/suzhou/
http://www.whatsoninsuzhou.com.cn/ (useful tips about living in Suzhou)
Suzhou is an opening city, many expats live here, if you still can't get useful information in those websites above, you could ask them in these forums below, these forums are created by local expats, here are the detail URL below
http://wearesuzhou.com
https://www.facebook.com/groups/suzhouexpats/ (it's the biggest local expats group on FB, please don't forget to prepare your VPN before you come if you need access Facebook in China, I use proxy tools instead of VPN,so I don't know which kind of VPN is fast, please join this Facebook group and ask expats in this group before you leave, they will give you useful answers)
BTW,if you wanna visit multiple cities in China, one of the best transportation is train, you could buy train ticket in local train agency or local railway station, but very difficult to buy onsite ticket with your desirable time there and sometimes ticket are limited during Chinese public holidays, so the best way is book your train ticket on Chinese railway official website (http://www.12306.cn) in advance, but it's a Chinese website,no English version at present, you could try to book train ticket online, but I can't guarantee you that you could book online ticket successfully, because of the limitation to register an account with English words. If you can't book online ticket, please ask your Chinese CSer for help after you arrive in China.
Please prepare your Chinese SIM card if you 'd like to stay in China for long time, but don't buy your SIM card on the airport, you could buy it in downtown, here are some suggestions

I don't have enough annual leaves and public holidays, so I could only take a trip in the neighbor cities not far from Suzhou.
Even so, I still want to try something new ,several month before I took the public buses from my home to Shanghai with the lowest cost(across two cities).
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn some courses on MOOC(Massive open online courses), it's free to learn best education sources all around the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could be your language exchange partner or teach you some simple local language phase if you'd like to practice your Mandarin even local dialect.
