I'm a recent college graduate from Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan with a major in environmental science. I've spent two seasons working in Zion and Denali National Park with Alexi. I'm currently working as a Wildlife Biologist for a large Environmental Firm, and based out of San Diego, though my work sends me to Hawaii, Alaska, and all sorts of cool places.
I've been pretty fortunate in life, I've already seen the majority of the country, particularly the wild parts. I'm an eagle scout, a camper, a hiker, and a beer drinker, and avid advocate of sardines and cold showers.

Alexi-
Hello! I recently graduated from University of Michigan in chemical engineering and biochemistry, and now live in LA. My passions are in the outdoors, I am an avid hiker and backpacker and have spent two summers working in national parks with Billy (Denali and Zion). I love to travel and experience both the cultural and natural beauty of the world, while sharing in human experience with others. To travel without being hedonistic and with respect for others places culturally, socially, and environmentally is very important to me. I am a vegetarian and love to cook, and can cook some fire albanian food for my hosts! I also very much enjoy music and am a producer myself.

Billy lives in San Diego. If you want to request to surf in SD, start your request with "Sour Toe" or I will not respond :) just wanna make sure you aren't just copy pasting!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're on Couchsurfing because we feel as though this is the best way to travel anywhere. To stay with incredibly interesting people who know the city you're visiting very well. The people we've met on our journeys couchsurfing have always been very kind and considerate, and have shared much knowledge and perspective. Meeting new people is one of our favorite parts of being on the road.

Love jazz, rap, jungle, techno, shoegaze, new wave, bluegrass, and others. A lil bit of everything really! My favorite books are Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey, Last Exit to Brooklyn by Hubert Selby Jr., and Farewell to Arms by Hemingway. My favorite film is Trainspotting.

Billy-
I like folk, the blues, and hardcore. My favorite book is Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey. Ken Kesey, Jim Harrison, and Cormac McCarthy are my favorite authors. My favorite film is Big Fish.

Quite a few great moments, but probably one of the most sincere highlights was being a foster dad for a sled dog in Denali National Park.
