About Me
Hello / Hola ! :)
My name is Alexia and I'm a multidisciplinary artist, writer and cultural manager. I am Argentinean-Canadian and grew up between Toronto and Buenos Aires. I've been based in Madrid for these last couple of months, but am planning on making my way up to Germany to reconnect with my roots (on my mother's side) and pursue a master's program. I am a creative, curious spirit and open-minded woman and am actively learning to live life through care, kindness and grace. I firmly believe everything happens for a reason, and that connecting with our earth cycles is a wonderful way of living in the PRESENT. I'm excited to meet wonderful people around the world who are on the same journey!
My dream is to open up a cultural centre + youth art hostel next to a river :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I've taken the plunge and am teaching myself to lead a sustainable lifestyle by earning a living through freelancing, art and community. I've been in precarious situations, and am so incredibly grateful for people who have invited me into their homes, and always do my best to give back in the same way. I also enjoy getting to know cities and towns through the eyes and stories of locals.
Interests
I love art, writing, tarot reading, cooking, caring for plants. I enjoy going to museums, parks and hanging out in gardens and little coffeeshops. In my current art practice I'm investigating folklore, mythology and earth-based rituals and beliefs. I have zero tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or ableism; and am grateful to always be learning, unlearning and growing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite music currently includes a mix of Erykah Badu, Tash Sultana, funk, disco and psychedelic rock. I'm getting into watching films again and I think my favourites must be Waking Life, Embrace the Serpent and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Fave book of all time is Women who Run With Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, but I'm also currently reading Mists of Avalon and it is blowing my mind!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm learning to trust my intuition, and I continue to surprise myself by challenging my boundaries, and doing the necessary shadow work to continue in my journey.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love energy exchange! I can share the knowledge I have on decolonial feminist studies, tarot reading, mindfulness, design, illustration, etc. I speak English and Spanish fluently and would be happy to guide you through those languages :) I also host full moon circles wherever I am and do dream interpretation :)
