I have stayed on a few couches but I am a new member. I have tended to follow the rules set out by the owner of the couch and play it by ear.

Literature, music, philosophy, history, politics, the out doors, stimulating conversation, bouncing back and forth of ideas, learning the various perspectives of people. If you are enthusiastic about something that is new to me then I become enthusiastic too.
I work in food manufacturing so I have developed a professional fetish in this area. I have strong beliefs on the future and the how of food manufacturing. I often get lost in supermarkets reading labels

movies not so much. This is more a time issue than a taste issue.
Music I will listen to almost anything. My personal taste is wide but generally anything with rock instrumentation.
Books, Wide ranging, I used to read strictly fantasy but now any fiction. If its highly recommended or something about it draws my attention. Not really any light reading, something that stimulates the mind, helps you grow, shed light on a different face of humanity or philosophy through fiction!
The last book I read was 1Q84 and could not recommend it enough!

I make a yoghurt for a living so I have experience with dairy. I can help cultivate a yoghurt culture. I also have knowledge of food manufacturing and am happy to share this as much as anyone wants to know.
I am happiest when given time in my own head and philosophy is a keen interest Im not sure yet if this is a skill
