My name is Alex Boutzalis.
I was born in Germany and grew up in Crete, Greece.
My mother is Austrian and my father is Greek. Therefore I had a possibility gain from two different cultures as I was growing up. It also gave me an opportunity to learn languages, I fluently speak Greek, German (my two mother-tongues) and English.
I am really passionate about being involved with anything that concerns nature. Vegetable-growing, hiking in Cretan mountains, enjoying the landscapes while camping and being around animals is a big part of my life. Also, I am a dedicated Vegetarian. I am also a sporty person, I really enjoy watersports (for example windsurfing, swimming and scuba-diving), skiing and bike-riding, also i love photography .
My other passion is art and traveling. It gives me an opportunity to learn new things, cultures, provides me with better understanding of the world and the society we live in, also it calms me down and makes me wonder about our place in the universe. I did many alone trips around whole Europe. Matter of fact, I just got back from a three-month stay in Australia, so I feel ready for new adventures and world-exploring.
I like to think that our life is rather a huge adventure, than day-to-day struggle, it enables us to learn new things and more enjoy the time we were given on this planet.
Couch-surfing will perfectly fit within my life-style and adventurous personality. I am looking forward to meeting new people with like-wise minds.
