About Me
Just a girl trying to travel the world! Currently at the end of my second contract working on a cruise ship that sails around the Hawaiian islands. We work for 5 months at a time with NO days off- around 10+ hours per day.
If you're interested, here is something I wrote about ship life-
People always ask me what it's like to live my entire life on vacation, but if you ask any crew member, they'll tell you that weekends (or days off at all), 40 hour work weeks, sleeping without an alarm set, etc. don't exist on a cruise ship for the crew. This life is no joke. But sometimes we sacrifice our precious nap times to relish 3-4 hours on land. The simplest things, like eating a meal off the ship and getting waited on, are some of our biggest pleasures. Although many limit their on shore experiences to simply the closest beach or the occasional Walmart or Jamba Juice run, there are some people who spend practically all of their free time searching for their next big adventure. These are the people that have inspired me the most and have truly shown me the amazing beauty of the Hawaiian islands. It seems like wherever you go, you can still see the ship somewhere in the background or you will still be ducking past passengers to avoid being asked "So, you're from Hawaii, right?" or "Do they let you sleep on the ship?" while you're off the clock. However, some people make it their mission to see how far out they can go, how high they can climb, or how lost they can get in one afternoon. It's these moments that make you feel like you're really living life- that, hey, I'm seeing some of the most beautiful things on earth, something that not even our richest or most privileged guests were able to experience. I've been on adventures that have changed the way I see the world and I owe it all to some of the most amazing people that I have met on this journey because they showed me that Hawaii is not just the cruise port or the shuttle ride and they were willing to drag me along even if I wore black flats to go hiking or napped all the way there or they had to spend 10 minutes convincing me to jump off something. No matter how hard this life is, by far the hardest part is saying goodbye every week to some of the best people ever, but I have no doubt we WILL meet again!
In fact, I have upcoming travel plans with my friend Steven, pictured in my photos section. We would love if you would host us!!
My current mission is to go to as many large festivals of the world as possible. First stop TomorrowWorld!!
Places I've traveled in the last few years:
Cayman Islands
Jamaica
England
Denmark
Germany
Finland
Russia
Estonia
Netherlands
The Hawaiian islands
I have a bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies. At home I worked for VCUarts (#1 public art school in the country) and a catering company doing special events and weddings every week.
When people first meet me, first and foremost they always say I'm so short! Other than that, I also have 12 tattoos and I am always trying to get more. People are often surprised by them because they say I'm so innocent looking!
"If it's important to you, you'll find a way. If not, you'll find an excuse."
"Life becomes easier when you learn to accept an apology you never got."
"Don't be in a hurry to condemn because he doesn't do what you do or think as you think or as fast. There was a time when you didn't know what you know today."
Interests
Totally indecisive at all times. I don't really know exactly what I want out of life and it's my favorite personality trait (sometimes)! I absolutely love exploring, getting lost, having an adventure, whatever. I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoy traveling. I will literally sit at the airport for 2 hours imagining the places I could be going. I am the only person I know that loves sketchy forms of transit because I think it's exciting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to the Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 30th Anniversary Concert in NYC when I was in 4th grade! Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, Destiny's Child, Britney Spears, etc. also performed! I actually saw Michael Jackson again a few months later as well. I've also seen The Rolling Stones, Cher, and Kiss (my first concert!).
Not necessarily "amazing," but definitely interesting- I got an all expense paid trip to Los Angeles to be on Judge Joe Brown. One of the craziest, most exciting things I've ever done! Every time my episode airs I get about a million Facebook friend requests and messages. Keeps my life interesting!
