About Me

When Alex was twenty years old, he left his home and the volcano of his home, and went to Europe. There he enjoyed his spirit and solitude, and for ten minutes did not weary of it. But at last his heart changed,—and rising one morning with the rosy dawn, he went before the internet, and spake thus unto it:
"Wait, is that a twenty bucks plane ticket?"

And this is how my ruin started.

I mostly rant about geography, draw nice buildings, wear berets, make wholesome offensive jokes and cook trash. I'm up for absolutely anything as long as I can breathe air.
:)

If that matters: I'm triple vaccinated and don't mind doing a test before my/your arrival.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Blah blah blah meeting new people, blah blah blah traveling the world, blah blah blah. We're all here for the same reasons.
My door is technically open, up to my roommates.

Music, Movies, and Books

I swing between dubstep and jazz. I also grew up in funk, and will never mind a few metal tracks. And a few guilty pleasures (ever heard of Franzl Lang? Quite an unforgettable man, check him out.)

Books? I'll probably make a bronze statue of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman someday. Apart of that, I like Murakami, Asimov, D. Adams, Christie, and recently Lovecraft thanks to my even nerdier gf.

Movies? Yeah, typical Miyazaki, comics and nerdy stuff. I'm a huge fond of animation. And, of course, and even though I can totally admit they're not that good, nothing beats Pirates of the Caribbean to my biaised eyes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That one time where I looked for my path for five hours in a snowstorm in Montenegro. Sometimes, I still feel like I'm dreaming everything and that my body is a frozen mummy up there.
I'm also technically a criminal in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus because I accidentally walked.
Did I mention I've been to Transnistria as well?

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you a few Reunionese Creole swearings. "PES LA MOUKAT I KOZ EN GRAINE AOU RODE BATAY PES MAQUERELLE MI SA TOTOCH TON NENENE EK SAVATE DEUX DOIGTS DONT", repeat after me.
Also the secret of a great vinegar dressing. It's all about the oil.

What I Can Share with Hosts

French cheese, dad jokes, deep debates to play my favourite game: devil's advocate, culture sharing and sometimes just nice and comfy silences looking at the surroundings.
