About Me

I am a 38 year old female . I love music, exploring, dancing and adventure. I play the banjo and hand drums. I work at a self-directed learning center for teenagers (part of the unschooling movement). Our philosophy is learning is natural, which is a big part of my want to travel more. I want to learn about different places, see more things, and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because couches are cozy and I need a place to stay! But for real - I would like to travel more freely and want to meet people with the same communal vibes. When visiting new spots, it's always the best to meet the people from those spots.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love music.... bluegrass, old-timey, folk, raga, indie, world music, rock and roll, and on and on.
Movies: Ravenous (1999), Sweet and Lowdown, The Fountain...
Books: Currently reading The Moon is Down and listening to Kitchen Confidential. Favorite book will probably always be Clan of the Cave Bear.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on an awesome last minute thrown together road trip through the state I live, Pennsylvania. I researched, found, and then explored a bunch of abandoned places (Centralia, Concrete City) and a few other cool spots in PA. I camped wherever I could find a place which at points meant in the woods behind a cemeteries and hidden in small patches of woods in weird, creepy towns.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Guitar, banjo. music, conversation, positive energy, creativity, and a thrive for adventure!
