About Me

I am a zero-waste (as much as I can be while traveling) lady looking to travel as far, and for as long as I can! I find passion in making new friends and experiencing new cultures.
In January 2018, I decided to quit my 9 to 5 to pursue my dream of traveling around the world working as a nanny or other odd volunteer opportunities I find.
I am very tidy and have no trouble meeting new people (or being alone).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like I said ^ I am looking to travel as far and for as long as I can. My plan is a solid year of travel! Plus traveling can become exhausting!

"On this bridge, Lorca warns: Life is not a dream. Beware, and beware, and beware. And so many think because then happened, now isn't. But didn't I mention? The ongoing WOW is happening, right now!
We are all co-authors of this dancing exuberance, where even our inabilities are having a roast... This entire thing we're involved with, called the world, is an opportunity to exhibit how exciting alienation can be.
Life is a matter of a miracle that is collected over time by moments flabbergasted to be in each others' presence.
The world is an exam, to see if we can rise into the direct experiences. Our eyesight is here as a test, to see if we can see beyond it, matter is here as a test for our curiosity, doubt is here as an exam for our vitality...
An assumption developed that you cannot understand life and live life simultaneously. I do not agree entirely, which is to say, I do not exactly disagree.
I would say that life understood is life lived. But, the paradoxes bug me, and I can learn to love and make love to the paradoxes that bug me, and on really romantic evenings of self, I go salsa dancing with my confusion. Before you drift off, don't forget, which is to say remember, because remembering is so much more a psychotic activity than forgetting.
Lorca, in that same poem said that the Iguana will bite those who do not dream, and as one realizes that one is a dream-figure in another person's dream - That is self-awareness!" -Timothy 'Speed' Levitch

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm into everything except overly 'mechanical' sounding electronic music, and pop country (sorry not sorry).

Movies: Waking Life, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, and any Miyazaki are a few of my top favorites.

Books: The Four Agreements, The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success, The Handmaids's Tale, and the power of now are a few of my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba Diving has been one of the most amazing things I've accomplished so far. While scuba diving in Hawaii with my family we spotted a sea turtle with fishing line so wrapped around it's body it altered his shell shape.

The line had been wrapped around his front flippers and much of it was half swallowed and coming out of it's mouth. We knew he couldn't survive much longer, we swam as fast as we could back to shore to get scissors from the spot we were staying and swam back to his little home under a rock.

We got him to the surface and calmed him down and cut as much as we could out and pulled it out of him mouth. After, he was so thankful he let us touch his shell and ride a round for a bit holding onto the top of his shell.

I'll never forget that feeling.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I am a pretty decent vegan/plant-based cook (from being raised on mac n cheese I'd say I've come a long way), I know how to throw pottery on the wheel/hand construct, how to juggle, basic ukulele, how to take steps to a waste-free lifestyle, and I can teach you to crochet.

Learn: The list is endless of what I would like to learn. Permaculture, beekeeping, sewing, canning, fermenting, bread baking, more yoga knowledge, building, any kind of electricity etc.
