Hey! My name is Alexis. Former D1 collegiate athlete (rower) who put up the oars and began riding my bike everywhere. Throughout the years, I have been fortunate to be able to travel around and race my bike in some awesome places (Redlands, CA; Gila, NM; Vail, CO; Northern California).

After spending a year as a "professional cyclist," I now have a great 9-5 job as a research analyst at an executive recruiting firm. I'm a fair-weather rider these days and bike commute a fair amount.

Some of the nicest and most interesting people I've met were through host-housing at cycling events. It's given me the opportunity to meet individuals I would have never met before and is way more fun than just checking into a hotel. I'm sure there are similar people on couchsurfing.

Intereses

-riding my bike - a perfect weekend day would involve waking up early and riding for several hours with friends
-exploring new places, especially by bike - these create some awesome memories
-hiking with my dog (Golden Retriever), "FroYo"
-frozen yogurt
-long, aimless car rides
-talking to people who have a major interest in something. I've recently enjoyed going to "cars and coffee" meetups, even though I don't know a whole lot about cars. I think it's awesome to listen to people with such a great passion in their hobby.
